For April 2024's Lower Polk First Thursday Art Walk, we opened our doors to both friends and the community to share an inspiring night of cocktails, music, and creativity. Guests passionate about design, looking for inspiration, or simply to be surrounded by good company came to mingle with us. We showcased our latest designs, pin-up boards and in-construction projects.

As part of the experience, we collaborated with some of the creatives in our lives. We showcased exquisite handmade furniture by Medium Small, stunning ceramic arts by White Dirt Studio, and a curation of artist's work curated by And A Tangerine.

The event was a wild success, filled with many familiar and new faces. We has a bartender pour specialty cocktails: Bonnie's Tequila made with pineapple, cilantro, serrano and lime. Sam's Whiskey was a variation on the Paper Plane -- bourbon, Brucato Amaro Orchards (we were mid construction on the Brucato bar, restaurant + distillery during the event), Aperol and lemon juice. Having the office buzzing with people was long overdue. It's so exciting to attend and host events in real life again.

Every month on the First Thursday of the month, the Moth Belly Gallery (across the street from our office!) coordinates a list and map of all the participants. Participants in the art walk range from traditional galleries to neighborhood favorites with freshly hung art on the walls like Dark Entries Records, Outta Sight Pizza and Soochie.

We don't have the bandwidth to host every month, but we love to walk around to see what's new, unsettling, inspiring, and completely unexpected. If you ever want to do the art walk, reach out and I'd love to be your guide. I've been living in the TenderNob for 15 years, just about as long as Studio BBA has been on Larkin Street in our self-proclaimed City Center Arts District.
